Lovers poem

Once we were lovers,
Young and free,
Together forever you said,
But then something inside you changed.

You told me that if I were a rose by any other name,
I wouldn’t blubber so much,
Or have such a cold heart.

So I shall use my head and
Try to come up with a formula
To cheat fate.
And avoid death,
It is worth the risk,
All so your name will bleed from my lips.
